THE CONCERT
The symposium will conclude with a two hour curated concert by Dr. S. Sowmya, who will be accompanied by Ranjani Ramakrishnan (violin) and Vignesh Venkataraman mridangam). In keeping with the symposium's intention to deepen our listening experience, Sowmya will introduce each Diksitar piece prior to performing it. In addition, the pieces she chooses for the evening will dialogue with the themes explored in the academic lectures and complement those performed by the youth artists.
The concert will be held at the Pitzer Auditorium, UC Davis campus. The concert will run from 7-9 PM. No unauthorized photography, audio or video recording is permitted.
The concert is ticketed. Tickets may be purchased at through the Mondavi Center's Ticketing service or at the door.
